An interview with Lynn Howells.

After the success of the experiment last season when I used a Club Captain and a Rugby Captain I have decided to use the same system for the forthcoming coming season. The dedication and commitment shown last season in achieving a positive link between committee, supporters, sponsors and players and the progression that he made in earning their respect and trust, I have decided to re-appoint Anthony Carter as the Club Captain. Shaggy said he was delighted that Lynn had asked him to take on the role again and looked forward to continuing working with him as the club pursued their ambitions. He said that although Lynn had an “open door” policy to all players there were times when Lynn asked for a squad view that had proved very useful in the past.

We are now into the eighth week of pre-season training and are at present, coming to the end of our Camp. This time working together has given the coaching staff and players the opportunity to assess who they feel is the person to become the Rugby Captain and to lead Doncaster in next seasons Championship. It has been decided that Glen Kenworthy will continue to be Doncaster Knights Rugby Captain, Glen is well respected by players and coaches and in the last two season he has shown a no nonsense, professional approach to all rugby related matters. Since my time in Doncaster it has been a pleasure to work with Glen, his knowledge and experience is second to none, and I am looking forward to working with him closely again next season. When interviewed Kendo said that he was honoured to captain the Knights again and he looked forward to working with Lynn, Brett and Scott as they sought to take the club forward to greater heights. He said that he and all the players were excited about the coming season and the new Championship and British and Irish Cup structure.
