The free parking is now at Danum School.
Danum school have been paid a fee for use of their school Car Park, which will now be free for the use of fans wanting to attend the game.
For the 2009/10 season, starting from the Glasgow Warriors game Doncaster Knights will be charging for parking at Castle Park for matchdays. The fee to park within the Castle Park site is now £2 and has been introduced for a long considered reason
It was thought important to not only invest several thousand pounds in a new specialist lawnmower to improve the quality of the pitches, but to also reduce the number of games the bottom “ paddock” field is used for matchday parking as this is having a detrimental effect for our main floodlit pitches. These pitches are used by several sections of the club for training and it has been viewed as important to try to improve these areas.
Not only will people now have to pay a small fee to use the parking within the perimeter, parking will also be alternated between the lower and higher pitches to try and limit the damage done by years of parking on the lower pitch.
Free parking is still available, the club have agreed a fee with Danum school to remove the charge they levy for using their car park. This car parking will remain in use, free all season for those who do not arrive early enough or do not want to pay the small fee to park in the ground.
Hopefully these changes will not have too much of an impact on the match day enjoyment of fans, and the club would like to point out the brand new bus stop for buses back into Doncaster now located right at the entrance to Castle Park. This was provided after much work by Kevin Clifton and will make it much more convenient to exit a game.
