Doncaster Knights charity arm, DIRECT, are proud to announce their new kit sponsorship deal of 2009/2010 with Rejus, a local family run business that has been in existence now for over ten years. Ali Wood, DIRECTs Programme Manager caught up with the two directors, husband and wife, Mathew and Babs Lynds.
So Matt and Babs, tell us about Rejus:
‘We started 10 years ago as a family run business with the belief that quality and service were the backbone of any successful business, very simply, we do what we say we’re going to do. We recognised that there was a gap in the market for delivering a reliable full building support package for businesses, offering competitive prices, hassle free management and open book partnering. The core services we offer are commercial cleaning, security services, window cleaning, electrical & mechanical maintenance and installations, construction and refurbishment’.
How did you first get involved with DIRECT?
‘Our children, Abbie and Rob, attended the multi sport summer camp this year on a trial basis for 3 days. They enjoyed themselves so much that it was a struggle to get them to come on a summer holiday with us! That was the first introduction of DIRECT to us and we experienced first hand what DIRECT was about.’
Why did you get involved with DIRECT?
‘The more we learnt about what DIRECT were doing and the team behind it we realised it was a worthwhile cause, where we really felt we could make a difference. Our family really feel welcomed by all the DIRECT team and believe it has made a massive difference to Rob and Abbie our children. Abbie has since joined the Knight Fever cheerleading team and Rob has threatened to join a junior team when they are good enough for him!’
What do you like most about the charity?
‘The fact that DIRECT delivers on an outreach basis to schools and communities at local level throughout the Doncaster borough, encouraging children to become more active, improve their communication and encourage them to become more healthy.
DIRECT also helps to deliver outcomes of the Every Child Matters Framework set out by the Department for Children Schools and Families, helping children to become healthy, enjoy and achieve and make a positive contribution. Doncaster is a fantastic place with great people and full of opportunities, we need to do more to make people believe it, and Direct gives kids that start and self belief.’
What are the benefits for Rejus being involved with DIRECT?
We are an ethical and honest business and love being associated with a charity, which works with the local community. It goes with saying that the fantastic exposure we are enjoying through being Direct’s kit sponsors, who deliver 37.5k events per year, is priceless and very rewarding. It is great to put something back into the community. Doncaster has been a great place to build a business, and putting something back is the right thing to do.’
Is there anything else you would like to add guys?
We would like to thank all the staff at Castle Park and especially the DIRECT team, who collectively deliver a great service and a fantastic day out.
