This morning at Castle Park, three members of the Knights charity DIRECT where involved with an event lead by the Playing for Success team at Castle Park.
The event was involved DIRECT as part of their partnership with the PFS group which works with school children in the Knights study centre, the classroom at the Castle.
70 Children from Shaw Wood and Southfields Schools were put through their paces by DIRECT staff John Rouse, Stuart Cullen & James Murphy. The main things that the Children were coached on were game sense, ball handling, TAG & SAQ (Speed Agility & Quickness).
After the event DIRECT coach Stuart Cullen commented, ‘It’s been a great morning, the kids have really enjoyed it. It’s a different approach to them being in the class room & it seemed to go down well’.
The photo at the top of the page shows James Murphy explaining the instructions of a particular version of TAG to the children before it got underway.
