Confirmation arrived this week that Doncaster Knights Junior teams will be providing the ball boys for the event which will be screened by Sky Sports as a 2 hours special in their Christmas schedule. Some of the players already declared include: John Bentley, Neil Back,Robbie Paul, Iestyn Harris, Paul Sculthorpe, Mike Catt and Mark Aston.

Team selection will be the subject of further announcements but the teams will wear specially commissioned indoor kits and play in squads of 9 with 6 players taking the floor at one time and operating unlimited interchange.

England World Cup hero Neil Back has agreed to play for England once again. This time Back will play for the England Legends team on Thursday 17th December at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield in a 4 team tournament played indoors under touch rules.
Back will team up with former Great Britain Rugby League captain Paul Sculthorpe
in the event which features great names from both codes of Rugby

Back said ' to see Union and League stars playing in the same teams will be a must for all Rugby fans. Touch is very fast and with the skills on display it will be a fantastic night at the EIS.’

Doncaster Knights will be proudly providing Ball Boys and Girls for the 2 hour spectacular, who will be chosen from juniors who have already provided Ball Boy / Girl cover for a Doncaster Knights league game this season.

Knights Chief Exec Rhonda Job Said “It was with immense pride we received the offer for our Junior players to support the event in front of the SKY cameras, and a mark of respect for the effort the volunteer coaches put in at Castle Park. I myself will be attending, while I believe my counterpart at Doncaster Rugby League Carl Hall will also be part of the day”

Tickets for the Rugby Legends Tournament are prices £15 for adults and £5 for juniors, and will provide an exciting evening’s entertainment for all in the South Yorkshire Rugby community.
