The 26th of August saw the launch of the new look Doncaster Knights website. The website is still provided by Bootroom new Media and has been reworked in layout and graphic style only.
Over the past seasons a lot of feedback was requested and several of the key points are addressed with this new template.
One of the key points of contention with previous incarnations of the website was the navigation system. On discussion with several members the new navigation has been designed to make every link visible and the majority of pages reachable with a single click. The top menu is now a drop down menu, hovering over this menu displays the further options which are clickable from that point. This saves much backwards and forwards looking for a particular page.
The bottom menu is now a highly visible sitemap. a handy but underused tool to make sure pages are blatanlty displayed to aid quick navigation of the site.
Further changes are smaller in size but key to the detail of provided a website for the fans of Doncaster Knights. A good example was Noel Senior's point that the date of fixtures should display on the left and not the right for convenience, other fans mentioned the remocal of the "Man of the Match" vote which is in development to relaunch. Text on stories will now wrap in the article to present less gaps at the top of articles and a clear " Home " button appears on the menu bar.
At the end of the day the Knights website is a product for the fans, and after listening to comments we hope this improved navigation structure and the hard work this has taken is apprecaiated by all.
