Knights to play 9 games in a month

Due to the recent freezing weather conditions Doncaster Knights suffered greatly with cancellations to games, frustratingly in this period they  only cancelled one game themselves.

With the new RFU Championship format including the British and Irish Cup and a playoff system for promotion and relegation the date restrictions on when games can and can’t be rescheduled are strict. Already once this season, in deference to a hectic build up of rescheduled games, the league season has been extended into what was time scheduled for the promotion or relegation playoff games but for the Knights this has still left a busy month from today onwards.

In February alone this has led to 3 rescheduled days being shoe horned in to the standard monthly schedule with all three of these being away games causing extra travel time on top of the game time. The Knights take on Coventry on Wednesday 10th, Birmingham on Wednesday the 17th and Bristol away on the 24th. One of the more worrying facts about these rescheduled contests is that Birmingham and Solihull have no floodlights, so the solution will be viewed with much interest.

For March the Knights already had a rescheduled game (away of course) on Wednesday the 3rd in deepest South Wales (Pontypridd in the British and Irish Cup) and the B7I Cup game already scheduled for the 6th away at Rotherham.

Below is the full list of rescheduled games as advised by the RFU, which will be a tough schedule for any sized Squad in Rugby Union.
