Doncaster Knights are seeking a New Media Journalist for the 2011/12 season. The role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to work within the professional sporting environment of an RFU Championship Club.

The position will give the chosen intern an opportunity to experience life in a fast moving industry and would suit a student looking to fill a year-long work placement, or a recent graduate looking to break into sports journalism.

Duties will include:
• Writing copy and helping to produce the Knights match day programme, official website and all commercial and marketing literature.
• Assisting the Communications Department with the external press and co-ordinating press conferences/days.
• Assisting in the Knights press office, both during the week and on a match day.
• General PR and Marketing administration.

The suitable candidate will possess excellent writing skills, strong I.T. competences, a good eye for detail and have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; therefore, experience in journalism and/or producing publications would be beneficial. Knowledge of Doncaster Knights and rugby union in general is preferable, but by no means essential.

Please note that this role will involve working at weekends and some unsocial hours - amendments may be made in certain circumstances to suit both parties.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a significant portfolio in journalism, as well as working alongside the Community, Sales and Sponsorship departments within an ambitious Championship Club looking to raise their profile.

To apply, send a covering letter and CV to Gareth Alred at the address below (closing date Friday 02/09/11):
