Doncaster Knights are sad to announce the following players will be leaving the Club this summer with our best wishes and thanks for the service they have given throughout the season.

Centres Oli Goss and Fred Burdon will be moving to our Northern neighbours Leeds Carnegie after an impressive season at Castle Park, whilst fellow midfield player PJ Gidlow has confirmed a switch to London Scottish.

Elsewhere in the Championship, promotion favourites Bristol have snapped up full-back David McIlwaine and fierce rivals Rotherham Titans have been quick to sign up powerful back-rower Michael Noone.

Steve Boden, Zack Farivarz, Royce Burke-Flynn, Ben Toft, Michael Heaney, Gareth Quinn-McDonogh, Toby Berridge and Latu Makaafi will also be leaving Doncaster, but the Club have yet to be informed of their whereabouts next season.

The only two players confirmed to step up to the Premiership are Alex Brown and Jack Yeandle with Exeter Chiefs, whilst Stuart Corsar with pursue career ambitions in Aberdeen alongside rugby and Michael Bateman will make his move to Hull Ionians a permanent one.

The most difficult loss to suffer is the retirement of promising scrum-half Lee Audis who was involved in a horrific car accident last November and remains in hospital, but shows signs of improvement. The Club are devastated that Audis will not return in a playing role to the Knights, but look forward to welcoming him next season to a game.

On the players leaving Doncaster Knights this summer, Director of Rugby, Brett Davey commented:

“I would like to thank all the players who are leaving this summer for their efforts over the period of time they have been here and wish them nothing but the best in the future.

“They have all been a credit to the club and it is always sad to see players leave, but it is part of rugby, even if it is disappointing to lose some players we would have liked to have kept.

“Some players have decided to depart, some have been released; but I wish them the best of luck regardless and look forward to playing against some of them in future seasons.”
