The DIRECT Community Rugby team are expanding their reach into new schools this term as the Edlington Pyramid gets the attention of Tom Ryder and his team.
Children in years 5 and 6 from Warmsworth, Hill Top, Wadworth, Tickhill St Marys, Tickhill Estfeld and Edlington Victoria - 95% of whom will be new to the Game - will receive 2 hours a week of in cirriculum activities as part of the Government drive to ensure quality physical exercise.
The Doncaster Knights provide all the required equipment and will use professional players to support the work of Ryder and his team. Extra support will come from the presence on occasions of Donny the White Knight, the popular mascot of the Knights, who will hand out prizes and add to the fun of the activities.
Over 500 children will be involved in the programme this term, and all the participating schools will be invited to attend the home matches against Exeter or Sedgley Park and show their skills at TAG rugby during the match half time breaks.
