Jon Benson has gone on loan to Otley for the rest of the season. He joined Doncaster in Summer of 2005 from Rotherham, having previously played at Leeds so this moves completes the quartet of National One Yorkshire club experience for him.
Clive Griffiths said
“Jon has joined our neighbours, Otley, on loan to get much valuable first team game time at National 1 level. We have a good rapport with Peter Clegg at
Otley and this is a convenient arrangement for all concerned.
Jon has only figured occasionally for DoncasterKnights this season
and needs matches under his belt to once again challenge
for a first team spot at Castle Park. Whilst our 'A' team can provide
him with this, the level of competition will be much higher in National
1 where teams will not be crying off fixtures - as has happened again with Harrogate
this weekend.”
