Chris Yates scoring a try

Doncaster RFC announce the departure of the following players :

Chris Yates - the powerful centre is moving to London to be nearer his girlfriend and is going to join Esher as backs coach/player. During his two years with Doncaster, Chris was a very influential player with the club and was a major factor in their successful promotion campaign. Doncaster wish Chris every success as he seeks to carve a niche in a coaching role.

Nick Wakley - the centre/full back has followed the club's former Director of Rugby Kingsley Jones to premiership club Sale Sharks as a full-time professional player. Unfortunately Nick missed a certain amount of last season due to injury, but he too made a major contribution to the club's promotion. Doncaster are sure that Nick will make a success of the transition to full-time rugby but he is aware that, if it does not work out as he would want, that he will always be very welcome back at Castle Park

Richard Briggs and Phil Reid - neither wing Briggs or utility back Reid have accepted the improved financial terms offered to them. As a club, Doncaster have to operate within a strict playing budget and it is with regret that we could not come to terms with the two players. The club wish them well with whichever clubs they move on to.

David Price and Phil Williams - these two players contracts expired at the end of the season and were not renewed.

Negotiations continue with potential new players who will improve the squad for next season and announcements will be made only when contracts are signed.
