Knights sign new fly half
Lynn Howells has moved to cover the 6/8 week injury absence of fly half Cerith Rees with a broken hand by signing Tom Luke, who can play 10 or 12.
The 24 year old is a Yorkshire lad whose family are from this area and his grandmother still lives near Askern. His senior career began with Bristol before he moved to Italy to play under Lynn Howells at Leonessa, then back to this country where he played at Bedford – including in one match against the Knights 2 seasons ago. He played last season for Ul Bohemians in the All Irish League, the level immediately below provincial rugby, and has jumped at the chance of returning to National One and working with Howells once again.
He said that “when the chance came up to get back to a club at the top of National One I couldn’t resist it. Especially when it was Lynn Howells who did the asking, and a club close to the family roots. The arrangement is initially for two months and I am hopeful that I will get chances to show my worth and look at the options of extending my stay. We will see how things work out.”
