DEAKIN STARS IN BRITISH POLICE WIN

Doncaster full-back Craig Deakin was the star of the show as British Police defeated their Australian counterparts 31-19 in an entertaining Police International at the Metropolitan Police ground at Imber Court this evening.

Deakin, who is an officer in the South Yorkshire Police force, contributed 21 of the British Police points by running in two tries and kicking four conversions and a penalty.

British Police led 31-0 at one stage before two yellow cards were issued which allowed Australia to rally. This was the first meeting between the sides since 1999 when British Police won on tour on Australia and also the re-match at Imber Court.
