On Saturday 6th October, Primary Schools from the Hall Cross Pyramid of Schools attended the Doncaster Knights vs Pertemps Bees game to play their Pyramid Tag Rugby Tournament.
Each of the 17 school Pyramids will play a tournament this year, with the winners feeding into the Champion of Champions event to be held at Castle Park, home of Doncaster Knights in 2008.
On Saturday four teams entered the event – Hatchell Wood, Sycamore, Bessacarr and Willow Primary Schools – with Willow narrowly winning the tournament on points difference.
The teams also played on the main pitch at half time to show off their skills to the crowd.
”It was a fantastic performance by all four teams” says Doncaster Knights Rugby Development Officer Ali Wood. “Everyone played in the spirit of the game and I’m sure all of the children and their parents enjoyed their afternoon with Doncaster Knights.”
As well as taking part in the tournament, the children all received a goody bag and an invitation to the next Knights game against Plymouth Albion on Friday 26th October, 7.45pm kick off, which is broadcast live on Sky Sports.
