Doncaster Knights at Bedford Blues on Saturday
The Knights will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend at Bedford, after giving up their unbeaten home record to the Pirates a week ago. The virus that affected several players last week has cleared the camp but minor injuries will see the Knights without both Spencer Davey and Justin Bishop. Tom Luke and Brad Hunt form a new centre partnership. In the pack Scott Gray is fit to resume in the back row, Tom Davies gets the nod at prop ahead of Simon Bunting, and Bryn Griffiths ahead of Sean Tomes at lock.
Bedford last week ran ten tries past a Moseley side which the Knights struggled to overcome the week before. Their only home loss was a narrow one to Northampton. Nobody in the camp is under any illusions about how difficult a match this will be, recalling also that last season the Knights had a sticky patch when after losing at home to Pirates, they lost narrowly at Bedford and drew at home with London Welsh. The coincidence of the Pirates defeat last weekend in proximity to this Bedford trip and next week’s hosting of the Welsh is scary!
Tom Davies looks forward to the match on this week's audio podcast which can be heard from this link below:
