Doncaster Knights v London Welsh on Saturday 2.30pm

Doncaster fans will get a first sight of new Tongan prop Toma Toke on Saturday. After two weeks of impressive work in training, and an eye catching display for the “A” team, Toke starts on the bench but can be expected to feature at some point. Should that be alongside Ngalu Tau, hooker (and captain for the day) Steve Boden could be excused for thinking he is in the South Seas as Welsh have selected their new Fijian hooker as well!

Also on the Doncaster bench is fly half Cerith Rees. After a hugely impressive opening 40 minutes at Coventry in the opening match of the season when he broke his hand, he has been in rehab for the full 12 weeks such an injury takes to heal. He can’t wait to get back into the action.

Lynn Howells makes two changes to the starting line up. Full back Anthony Carter, who was knocked out at Bedford last week, misses the game with a sore neck despite his cognitive function test being all clear. Wes Davies reverts to full back and Paul Bailey, who impressed as a replacement at Bedford, is on the wing. In the pack, Howells takes a chance to rest Glen Wilson and give Chris Planchant another opportunity to show his worth at number eight.

For Scottish exchange referee Graham Knox the trip down from Greenock is a relatively short one. His recent appointments have seen him in Romania and Italy.

Kick off at Castle Park is at 2.30pm and the Wales v S Africa international will be shown “as live” immediately thereafter.
