EDF Junior Vase

Quarter Final – Saturday 23rd February 2008

West Leeds v DoncasterPhoenix

This forthcoming Saturday sees Doncaster Phoenix travel to fellow Yorkshire 3 competitors West Leeds in feasibly Phoenix’s biggest game in their history being only 2 games from the hallowed turf of Twickenham.

The run up to this game has seen favourable draws for Phoenix to date all home (bar one)encounters as follows:

Doncaster Phoenix 54 Bury3

Rotherham Phoenix 5 Doncaster Phoenix 24

Doncaster Phoenix 15 Thorne 0

Doncaster Phoenix 30 Pinley 7

Doncaster Phoenix 22 Nottingham Casuals 0

The quarter final cup game at West Leeds on saturday will Kick off @ 14.00 hrs.

Previous history suggests that the games go with the home team with Phoenix victourious in their last two encounters at Castle Park and West Leeds victors at home late last season - it goes without saying Phoenix will be looking to overturn this trend.

Coach Dave Senior is expecting all players to turn up for the coach with a professional attitude and kitted out appropiately in team track suits and t shirts for the journey there and number 1's for after the game.

As part of the build up Doncaster Knights Italian international forwards coach Massimo will be taking a forwards session at training tonight and again in the build up to the game can all players make every effort to attend at 7pm prompt tonight - particiularly the forwards.

The coach will be leaving Castle Park at 11.30am (propmt) and return for 6pm any supporters wishing to travel on the coach are welcome (Contribution £5). the coach will leave on time. Any fan who feels they need the weekend rugby fix would be advised to go along and cheer on the Phoenix as they are only two games away from Twickenham.

That extra support could help them pass that next hurdle, and head closer to the prize at the end.

We will hopefully be able to bring some build up for the game to the front page, and help with directions to the game as we follow our motto " Rugby For All".
