 Coventry match preview
22.09.2005

Castle Park clubhouse

Pieter Muller’s men will be looking for their first win of the season as they entertain Coventry, who broke their duck last weekend. Doncaster have lost all three games to date including two at home already to the Cornish Pirates and Exeter but there were sufficient signs in last week’s narrow defeat of better days to come.

Coventry, after two successive defeats, had an excellent home win over Otley at the Butts Arena last Saturday, also picking up the four try bonus point, and will be hoping to build on that this weekend at Castle Park. This is their first away match of the season having played all three matches so far at home. They include former Doncaster favourite Paul Clapham at lock in their vaunted big pack.

Muller makes two changes to the starting line up: Steve Barretto for Richard List at prop, and the fit again Jonny Roddam for Scott Plevey at hooker. Winger Michael Wood who has been injured since scoring on the opening day of the season is fit again but starts on the bench.

This will be the first time the sides have ever met.

Doncaster: J Boden, D Van Vuuren, B Hunt, D Murray, L Nabaro, J Benson, C Harrison, S Barretto, J Roddam, N Tau, D Cook, E Norris, R Earnshaw (capt), S Grainger, D Montagu. Replacements: R List, S Boden, T Davies, J Rule, O Cook, L Lane, M Wood.

Referee: Alan Biggs (RFU).
