Jenkins News

Exeter Chiefs will be without Hooker Simon Jenkins next season as the Welshman has signed a deal to play for Doncaster Knights. Simon has signed a 2 year deal at Castle Park although admits he will face stiff competition from fan favourite Steve Boden for the starting position.

The Welsh Hooker, who has previously played for Nottingham in this league has been a season long target for Lynn Howells and has played against the Knights previously showing his quality and class.

“Jenkins is the kind of player we need to ensure top quality competition for places at Castle Park. With Steve Boden having signed an extension on his contract we have some real pressure to perform in the forwards”. Lynn Howells told us.

Simon Jenkins will join Neil Cochrane as a new signing for the Knights next season, who have ensured continuity by extending deals for the likes of Grainger, Boden, Gross, List, Tau, Carter and Planchant who have all performed well in the 07/08 campaign.
