Davies Suspended
28.03.2008

Doncaster Knights would like to make a statement about the recent sending off during the Cornish Pirates game of Fullback Wes Davies.

After a meeting attended by Doncaster Knights management team and board members the decision has been made that Davies will be suspended by the club for 4 weeks, a suspension they feel reflects a correct punishment for ill discipline. This is a club suspension, and will not effect any decision made by the RFU on review of the case.

The meeting took place Sunday Evening, straight after the Cornish Pirates game which means the suspension is was effective from Monday 24th March.

Although Wes Davies has been player of good character during his time with the Knights, and is not viewed as a repeat offender, a standard has been set for players who suffer discipline issues while wearing the shirt of the Knights.

Doncaster Knights are aware of their position in the disciplinary table, and will be proactive in their dealing with this issue at all times.
