With the success of Tongan International players over recent seasons at Doncaster Knight’s Lynn Howells has committed to another Tongan Star joining the club.
Hudson Tonga’uiha, who’s brother Soane played against the Knights for Northampton Saints last season, will be joining the Knight’s back line on his return to England this Summer.
The Tongan back, who has been plying his trade in France since the World Cup 2007, is currently on his way to the Pacific Rim Tournament. Coincidentally he will feature in the same side as Knight’s prop Toma Toke, giving the new team mates a chance to play together once again before they return to South Yorkshire for pre season.
Tonga’uiha plays primarily at Centre, although he has played for Tonga on the wing, stands 6 ‘ 3” tall and weighs in around 14 stone. Having been selected for Tonga on 16 occasions, during which he has scored 5 tries, the newly Knighted player must be considered as a success at International level. Hudson’s last appearance for Tonga was as a replacement against England during the 2007 World Cup, and his inclusion in the latest Tongan squad is great news for him and his new team.
