Hughes wings in

After 6 seasons at Headingley Chris Hughes has decided its time to head for pastures new. “When I decided to leave Leeds Carnegie there was only one destination I had in mind” The Beverly born Winger told us.

Hughes, who stands 175cm tall and weighs in a 88kg, has moved across the county from West Yorkshire after a season of limited opportunity in the Premiership. “When Leeds won promotion from this league in the 06/07 season I scored 7 tries in 9 appearances” The new Knights Winger told us, “What I want to do now is fight to start every game and try to pile points on for Doncaster from the wing”.

Hughes started his rugby at Driffield, playing his Junior rugby there before moving to Leeds. He represented Yorkshire at every age up until 16 and played for England U16’s as well. “At 16 I was so busy with club rugby at Leeds I stayed focused on that. I even got into the RFU Academy Scheme and that took up the time I didn’t use playing County rugby”.

Hughes joins the Knights alongside fellow Leeds player, Doncaster born Michael Cusack.” Cusack coming here was an influence on my choice of clubs after I decided to leave. I’m looking forward to the new challenge, with a team that’s going places”.
