The Stadium development process at Castle Park is in the throes of its busiest and most interesting times, 6 weeks into the 36 week “West Stand” development and already the area around the first team pitch looks drastically different.

Not only does the old 80’s built West Stand no longer exist, but the new permanent fencing around the First team pitch and fan areas has been erected already. This adds to the relocation of the red temporary seating that was next to the old West Stand.

The 6 weeks so far on this project have been eventful :

Weeks 1 and 2 saw the site setup and demolition. During this time the Cadman staff built a foundation for and relocated the temporary seating. Services also had to be relocated at this time meaning a heavy workload to begin.

Weeks 3 and 4 saw the relocation of water tanks and the reduced dig to prepare for the task ahead, during these times the Cadman staff took the initiative to move earth into spots that were already marked for landscaping at the ground.

Weeks 5 and 6 have seen the stoning up to ground level of foundations and excavations essential within the plans for the West Stand.

Week 7 will see the arrival of the steel on site for erection, which will mean that the shape and size of this prestigious development will become much more apparent.
