French flair for the Knights.

Doncaster Knights are looking forward to unveiling their latest signing as Allam Boumedienne arrives at Doncaster Today. The 28 year old Second row has spent most of his career in the French Top 14, the top French Division and is an experienced second row as well as good cover for the no 8 position currently occupied by Chris Planchant.

“ In France this boy is described as “a bit of a handful”, but I’m sure he will buckle down and be a great addition to the pack for this season”. Lynn Howells commented.

Allam began his career at Toulon, from 1997 to the year 2000 , and in his first year the U21 side he played in were French Champions. Over the next two seasons he broke into the first team, and eventually became first choice no 8.

3 seasons followed at Narbonne, and despite an International no 8 in the squad he kept his first team place and had a successful time there between 200 and 2003.

His conversion to second row came at his next club, Tarbes. The French 2nd Division side played him in that position and despite serious competition he played 2/3rds or the season in the Locks.

For the 2004/05 season he featured as second row and back up no 8 at his next club, moving back up to the First Division to play for Auch.

Boumedienne had great success in the 2006/06 season playing in the Spanish Championship, making many appearances in the team that finally won the league Barcelona.

During 2007/08 the French Forward played to Blagnac in the French Second Division, a club that were unfortunately punished for financial irregularities leaving him free to move to the Armthorpe road club this season.
