Tom Ryder

Tom Ryder appointed as Community Development Manager at Doncaster

Doncaster Rugby Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Ryder, aged 22, to head the Community programme at the club. Ryder is currently completing his MSc in Sports Development at Sheffield Hallam University, having already passed his BSc in the subject last year.

He is a qualified Level 2 RFU Coach, a tutor for the British Sports Trust, an RFU SAQ Instructor and has a variety of qualifications from Sports Coach UK. He has used these qualifications to coach Yorkshire Ladies and the County Under 16s as well as being involved in the Elite Player Development Programme at Leeds Tykes.

On the pitch he has captained the Hallam University 1st XV for two years and played at Rotherham.

Starting his job at Doncaster today, Tom said:

“My passion and drive for the development of rugby in all forms (grassroots development, schools, club development and player development) means that I am well suited and looking forward greatly to the job at Doncaster Rugby Club. Existing personal relationships and knowledge of key stakeholders of in rugby in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, Yorkshire and beyond will be advantageous in getting our new programme up and running quickly and I look forward to working with the three existing Rugby Development Officers (Llyr Lane, Danny Ligairi and Jonny Roddam)."
