Another of the clubs who have given up their identity for sponsor’s cash are this week’s visitors to CastlePark. Birmingham & Solihull, as the RFU call them, lie one place above Doncaster at the wrong end of the league table and both sides are well aware that with the two bottom clubs below them facing difficult games, a win here would open a nice gap above the relegation zone.
Pieter Muller still faces a long list of injuries amongst his backs, although Michael Wood is fit again and will feature on the right wing. Rob Liley, who has been on the bench the last two weeks after his three month absence, will start this week at outside half. To bolster his numbers, Muller has done a deal with former Castle Park coach Kingsley Jones that will see Nick Wakley return from Sale Sharks on loan, initially for a month but always available for recall if the Sharks need him. In the pack, Russell Earnshaw has returned from the Dubai Sevens and is fit to resume at openside flanker. Kick off this week is at 2.00pm.
