It’s another West Country trip for Pieter Muller’s men this weekend as they visit The County Ground for the first time – and arguably not at the best time as full time professional Exeter have this week sacked Director of Rugby, Ian Bremner, and will be looking to end a surprising four match run without a win that has seen them plummet to eighth place in the table. Alternatively, this could be seen as an ideal time to take advantage of internal unrest at Exeter.
Either way, it is a pity that Doncaster will be without two key backs following injuries last weekend. Both Nick Wakley and Donovan Van Vuuren damaged ribs against Bedford and both are targeting a return for the Harlequins game on 12th February. On the plus side, Rob Liley is fit to resume at fly half after missing last week. With Charlie Harrison, Brad Hunt and Luke Nabaro still on the injured list, and Jon Boden not fully recovered, Muller has turned to Kingsley Jones at Sake Sharks for the short term loan of winger Matt Riley who will start on Saturday. The pack sees Steve Barretto start at prop on rotation with Ngalu Tau, and Russell Earnshaw return after his injury on the bench.
