......Wes Davies is latest Castle Park arrival...........
Doncaster have signed the Cornish Pirates back Wes Davies. Originally from Wigan, he initially played rugby league for Wigan, Salford and Wales before changing codes to join Orrell. From there he moved to Worcester before joining the Pirates.
Aged 28, at 6ft 1ins and almost 15 stone, his preferred position is at full back (where he played in both fixtures against Doncaster last season) but he can also play centre or wing. Doncaster supporters will best remember him, though, for scoring five tries for Orrell in a pre season game a few seasons back! He describes his finest hour as playing for Wales against Australia in the semi final of the 2000 Rugby League World Cup, when Clive Griffiths coached the national side, and looks forward to renewing acquaintance with “Griff” at Castle Park where he becomes the seventh new player to sign up this summer.
