Welsh influence felt in arrival of Ben Philips from Pontypridd..........
Doncaster Rugby Club is pleased to confirm the signing of the Pontypridd hooker, Ben Phillips.
The 25 year old, a solid 5ft 9in and almost 15 stones, was signed on the recommendation of new Director of Rugby Clive Griffiths.
Born in Bridgend and a product of the Bridgend Academy, Ben played for Wales Universities while at UWIC doing a Sports Analysis degree. He then took a year out playing for Manley in Australia before joining Welsh Premiership side Pontypridd where he has been a combative hooker for the past two seasons. He has also been responsible for compiling all the DVD analysis of performance at Ponty, a skill that Clive Griffiths will include in Ben’s role at Castle Park.
