The club is delighted to announce that Andy Smith has become the club match day doctor. He is one of the A&E Consultants for the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust that covers Pontefract, Wakefield and Dewsbury and is an Immediate Care Specialist. Formerly a player at Nottingham, Andy has studied sports medicine, working with the Wakefield, Yorkshire, North, England U21 and England Counties and England Universities sides.

He is a Director of the RFU Pitchside Immediate Trauma Care Course Trust, who qualify Premiership club doctors for their duties in this regard so brings huge skills and experience to Castle Park. He chose to join Doncaster over other offers because "it is a progressive thinking club that is putting in place the best possible support structure for its players". Andy or one of his team will attend all Knights' matches, home and away.
