Doncaster Knights Bringing Art to Life
What started with a light hearted discussion six months ago became a reality at Castle Park last Saturday. As part of the Knights’ battle for top of the table status and a Premiership future, the Knights unveiled their newest recruit.
“Donny the White Knight” has a slightly different pedigree to some of the Knights’ recent International and Premiership signings. Donny has not come through an academy structure or been recommended by one of Clive Griffiths’ contacts. Donny was designed on a piece of paper, coloured in, put on computer and then turned into reality. Donny was named by unanimous decision of the many attendees of the Club’s Multi Sport Summer Programme and he made his debut entering Castle Park to the ‘Knight Fever’ theme tune. As part of the growing entertainment programme at Castle Park on a match day, Donny will be with the Knights at all home games and last Saturday officially opened his “Knights’ Realm” Kidz Zone with bouncy castles, inflatable sports arena, garden games’ competitions and prizes all of which are provided free of charge for young fans by DIRECT, the Knights’ community charity.
‘Donny’ will next be on show at Castle Park on Saturday October the 7th when the Knights face the Cornish Pirates as part of a blockbuster Family Fun Day, generously supported by Weldricks Pharmacy.
