Knights

Sitting in second spot, and with leaders Plymouth Albion facing a tough derby at Exeter, a Knights’ win against the Pirates could well see them top of the table on Saturday evening. These are heady days at Castle Park and with another big crowd expected, Clive Griffiths is well aware of the importance not just of the fixture but of starting well, something the team has not done on the last two outings!

He makes one change to the squad that won last week at London Welsh, and it sees local boy Dave Scully make his first start at scrum half for the Knights after being a replacement in previous games. Ben Jones reverts to the bench.

The Pirates are seventh in the table, having lost both their previous away games. If their 16-19 loss at Waterloo was a surprise, their 20-21 reverse at Leeds Tykes was frustrating as they felt they should have won that match. On the only two encounters between the sides at Castle Park, honours are even with a win each.

Doncaster: J Boden, Hunt, Bailey, Davey, W Davies, Woodrow, Scully, Bunting, S Boden, Tau, Kenworthy, Gross, Earnshaw, Forster, Wilson.

Bench: List, Phillips, T Davies, D Cook, O Cook, Jones, Van Vuuren.

Referee: R. Kitt (RFU)
