Leos v Demons
The Demons started the game with some good handling from the backs that enabled Psycho to chip the ball over the try line where she gave chase under pressure. Unfortunately when Psycho dived on the ball it was knocked forward. From the scrum Leos No11 ran the full length of the pitch with Beanie hot on her heels, alas Beanie didn’t dive and the No11 opened the scoring, they did fail to convert.
After the restart the Demons seemed to be on attack when suddenly the ball was stolen in a ruck and they Leos raced over the line for another try which this time they did convert.
This time when the Demons kicked off the girls seemed to have more fire in their bellies. With some excellent teamwork and good handling skills the Demons were in the Leos 22. After a scrum Psycho grubber kicked the ball over the try line and Beanie managed to dive on the ball (narrowly missing the post) to score the Demons first try. Psycho then converted bringing the score to 12-7. This was the last play in the first half.
After an inspirational team talk by Little and Large (who we now think should be called Laurel and Hardy), the Demons looked like a different team. They really took the game to the Loess with awesome tackles from Psycho, Trump and Tigger. Jimmy Crankie received the ball and ran at the defence she popped the ball to Tigger who made good yardage and passed to Lara Croft who curved round the defence side stepped to last defender and popped the ball to Beanie who then fed the ball to Tigger who scored her first ever try for the Demons. Well done to all involved, Teamwork Works! Psycho also converted. With excitement mounting the Demons were now leading by two points 12-14. With the Demons receiving things were looking up when once again they were on the attack. Not for long though as the Leos once again stole the ball from a ruck. This time though the Demons weren’t giving up too easily. Everyone put in fantastic tackles but the Leos used quick hands and the backs were once again on the try line and scored. Leos converted. The game then took a turn for the worse when Trump put in a bone crushing tackle, got the ball and then was dump tackled. She landed on her head and was down for a good five minutes. With Trump leaving the field our new comer Katie came on to have her first attempt at second row. From the restart the Leos scored again, but didn’t convert. Off the Demons went again only this time the determination and enthusiasm had turned to anger and despair. With Leos having the ball Tigger put in a fantastic tackle which left her underneath a pile of bodies. This was when all the discipline went to pot and the Demons let the last try in and Leos converted. The final score being Leos 29 Demons 14.
