This Saturday saw Phoenix back to winning ways with a comprehensive victory over Wakefield side Stanley Rodillians that put the hunt for second place well and truly back on track. With Aireborough winning at Bramley they secured top slot and promotion to division three.

On all accounts the game went much along in the same vein as Hemsworth with Phoenix securing the win in the first half and were 21-8 up at half time.

The reports back were that the backs functioned well as a unit and this was where the majority of the points were scored courtesy of a Burton hat trick, Ellis a brace and tries from Jaznakowski and Conway with Atkinson being the only forward provider.

Good performances were recorded by ultra -veteran Atkinson with Henry Taylor also to the fore this combined with a potent backs display ensured the league points were secured.

Unfortunately the seconds travelled to Rods only for the game to be cancelled due to Rods only having seven players available.

With Aireborough securing top spot, the game on the 8^th  April when Otliensians travel to Castle Park will decide who takes second place and promises to be a close game with Yorkshire 3 rugby the prize!
