West Leeds 2^nd XV 7 Doncaster Phoenix 2^nd XV 36

Despite travelling with 13 men, Phoenix seconds emulated their first team counterparts with a convincing Merit victory at West Leeds.

With thanks to West Leeds who loaned Phoenix a player and indeed scored against his own team Phoenix ran out winners by crossing the home side try line 6 times, scores from Lowcock (2), Mag, Mundy, Nithsdale and Stuart with Chris Hughes slotting one conversion and Jonny Stewart another.

Apparently the highlight of the day was the performance of Lowcock in the centre that crossed the line and in an effort to make the kick easy strolled to the middle unopposed only to drop the ball to the amazement of his teammates.

This was a fantastic effort on the part of those who travelled and now with five games at home beckoning the concentration is to achieve consistency with 15 players to mount a challenge in the merit.
