Doncaster Phoenix 2^nd XV 14 Doncaster Dragons 14

This was the first encounter in the Phoenix-Dragons Ashes season which saw an entertaining game of rugby which ended with the honours shared after Phoenix were initially leading 14-0.

The Phoenix scorers were Lee Colcombe and Tom Elliot. However the most notable performance came from former Phoenix favourite and now established Dragon scrum half Mr Dean Malton who in a fantastic show of petulance proceeded to spit his dummy out big style on being binned by stand in referee for the day Dave Townend. Allegedly on walking off he was heard to let out a big roar of disapproval and has not been seen since.
