Doncaster opened the defence of their N2C title with the toughest fixture the computer could give them - an away trip to the Dales to meet last season's runners up.
Skipper Simon Greenslade led the side well and four first half tries opened a lead that was to be conclusive, despite a ferocious second half assault by the Green's big pack who did reduce the deficit although the result was never in doubt.
Steve Meyer had an outstanding match, opening his season with a hat trick of tries; and in the pack Jimmy Rule was dominant throughout. The other tries came from Nick barrett and Austen Hayes. Greenslade kicked the extras.
Next up are Cleckheaton at Castle Park on Saturday 10 September.
