London Scottish

Founded in 1878, the initial purpose of London Scottish FC was to give Scottish expats living in London the opportunity to play rugby alongside fellow countrymen.

From the highs of plying their trade in the top flight of English club rugby to the lows of administration and relegation, London Scottish remains intact 139 years later.

Scottish earned promotion to the Championship in 2011 after seven promotions spanning 11 seasons, with their decider against Barking one of the most dramatic moments in their club’s history.
With seconds remaining in their promotion match, Barking led 13-10, and looked sure to earn passage to the championship.

However, a wayward pass was thrown and intercepted by Scottish, with the subsequent length-of-the-field score confirming their place in the upper echelons of English rugby.

The 2014/15 season was Scottish’s fourth in the Championship, and their most successful, as they finished third overall. The following campaigns were less celebrated however, with two 8th-place and one 11th place finish.

Alongside a proud history, Scottish can also boast a broad player base, as the likes of: Gavin Hastings, Kenny Logan, Max Evans, Elliot Daly and Nathan Earle have all worn the blue, white and red.
