DKTV | Challinor embracing challenge of facing league leaders

Matt Challinor is ready for the challenge of facing league leaders Newcastle Falcons on Friday evening.

Doncaster secured a vital away win at Yorkshire Carnegie before the Christmas break and is looking forward to get back playing.

“I am really excited, we’ve had a week off to recharge the batteries and we’ve come back, hit the ground running and training has been going really well.

After the Leeds result we just want games to come thick and fast and try and build on that result.”

The forward is prepared for the challenge and is looking forward to playing at Kingston Park.

“I think you’ve got to enjoy it, they are a quality side with quality individuals.

They haven’t lost at home, but you can go into the game thinking you’re up against it or you can embrace it, we know it is a big challenge, but that is what we are looking to do.”

Doncaster produced a valiant performance against the Falcons the last time the two sides met, especially in the first half as the Knights produced on their best displays of the season. The 35-year-old believes the side can take confidence from the game, despite the end scoreline, and build on that tomorrow.

“When you look at the scoreline it looks like they won well, but for large periods of the game we were matching them and causing them quite a few problems. We have looked through that footage and seen what went well for us and what didn’t and we’ll try and produce a similar display on Friday night.”
