Another sensational second half display earned the Knights their first away win of the season.

Two tries in the last 10 minutes sealed the victory in a hard-fought performance from the Knights against a Richmond side that were a continued threat throughout.

It was a torrid start to the match for those in Doncaster colours when Tom James’ kick was blocked after just 40 seconds, allowing Ed Milne to dot down with ease.

That was the signal to kickstart the Knights into gear though as they capitalised on two penalties, both being scored by Steve McColl.

Richmond extended their lead after a continued amount of pressure provided pivotal with a success pick and go from Ronnie McLean.

However, The Knights were not to be swayed and fought back through Ben Hunter driving over after a superb maul.

After half-time, it was the home side that came out with further intensity. On a number of occasions, the Knights held firm with some tough tackling from the forwards keeping Doncaster in the match.

McColl kept his cool once again though and put away his third pen of the afternoon.

Richmond soon bounced back scoring a penalty of their own to give the home side a point lead of 17-16 after 68 minutes.

That lead was short lived though, when a bounce pass from Tom Hicks found Curtis Wilson, who offloaded to Lloyd Hayes. The outside centre avoided one tackle, before being dragged towards touch, yet Hayes managed to outstretch his hand and dot down to give the Knights the lead going into the final 10 minutes of the game.

It continued to be a tough fight for the Knights as Richmond pinned Doncaster back with only a number of tough tackles keeping the home side at bay.

In the dying embers, James intercepted a pass to stride away down the left with ease and dot down to hand the Knights a well-deserved victory.
