Doncaster Knights are currently looking for a part-time Facilities and Safety manager to join our team and manage the maintenance of our stadium and conferencing facilities at Castle park.
This is an exciting opportunity to help us create and maintain a well-functioning, secure and safe work environment for staff and visitors. Our site at Castle Parks consists of the various buildings and structures you would expect at a major sporting venue. The successful individual will be responsible for coordinating and managing all maintenance, redevelopment (where required) and health and safety functions of these buildings. Ideally the successful candidate will have a knowledge of sporting and conferencing venues and will support the General Manager with the day-to-day operations of the site alongside events management.
The role will include managing relationships with contractors, negotiating contracts and ensuring that all works are delivered in a timely and effective manner. You will regularly inspect devices, structures, and systems (such as fire alarms and air conditioners) identifying the need for repairs and renovations and ensure all records are maintained and up-to-date. The successful candidate will also support the General Manager in bidding for improvement grant funds where appropriate.
You will also be required to develop and implement maintenance and safety systems and liaise with both external and internal clients including the RFU and City of Doncaster Council.
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
- Appropriate academic and or professional qualifications in a building and/or property management;
- A recognised qualification in safety and safety management;
- Proven track record in construction, property management or a related discipline;
- Proven leadership experience;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Strong time management skills;
- Excellent financial management skills;
- Ability to work on your own initiative;
- Experience of a similar role in a professional sport environment would be useful.
