Knights prepare for cup clash with Jersey

Doncaster Knights make the trip to Jersey for the second time in as many months looking to claim a vital victory in their quest for qualification for the Championship Cup knockout stages.

The two sides met at the Stade Santander International with the home side coming away with the win, despite a valiant first half display from the Knights.

In the first fixture in the cup though, it was Doncaster that claimed the spoils with an impressive 32-26 home win. A try from Johnny McPhillips and Tom James set the Knights up for a huge win in the group stage to send them to second in the pool, which we sit three points above the Reds with three games remaining.

Doncaster travel to the Channel Islands on the back of one win in their last three games, but have been hampered with a long list of first team players out injured.

While tomorrow’s opposition have won their last two matches against Nottingham and Ampthill.

Doncaster captain Michael Hills has recovered from injury and makes his way back into the starting line up, while Matt Challinor returns from his citing ban.

Wian Conradie is set for his first start for the club as does Sam Moore, who has joined on loan from Sale Sharks.

Charlie Foley will make his 50th appearance for the Knights, whilst Curtis Wilson and Steve McColl make their returns to the starting 15.

Another new addition is scrum half Gus Warr, who has also arrived from Sale on a dual registered deal.

Still on the side lines are Dougie Flockhart, Ollie Stedman, Rory Pitman, Tom Hicks, Matt Smith, Kurt Morath, Colin Quigley, Pete Lucock, and Sam Jones.
