Doncaster look to continue 2019 unbeaten

Doncaster travel to the capital tomorrow looking to claim a fourth successive victory of the year.

The Knights have won the last three games, two on the road, and rose to seventh in the Championship table.

Last time out a 34-7 convincing win over Richmond saw the side grasp a much-needed home victory and another five points.

Before that, the Knights faced bottom of the league Hartpury and ran out comfortable winners with a 48-21 score line after six tries. The best result of the new year came at the Butts Park Arena, as Donny became just the second team to beat Coventry away this season with a 23-17 battling win.

Ealing Trailfinders currently sit second in the GK IPA Championship with 10 wins and three defeats.

The London based side have won their last two league matches, succumbing too a 23-18 defeat to Bedford Blues in early January.

The two sides have faced each other seven times since 2015 with Ealing tasting victory on four occasions, twice at home. Most recently a 57-14 win in November 2017. Doncaster did take revenge though in April last season with a 50-19 triumph.

This season, Ealing have won their last six home matches, losing just once at the Trailfinders Sports ground since March last year. However, the Knights have the second best away form in the league taking 22 points from seven matches.

Director of Rugby Clive Griffiths has been forced into several changes due to injuries sustained in the victory over Richmond two weeks ago.

Ben Hunter and Colin Quigley both have calf injuries, as well as Dougie Flockhart picking up a knock in training. While Morgan Eames, Tom Hicks, Dave Nelson remain out. Sam Olver is not permitted to play due to his loan agreement, meaning Kurt Morath plays at 10.

Hooker Mike Mayhew is set for his first start in a Doncaster shirt, while Joe Sproston is named in the 15 for the fourth time this season. Curtis Wilson returns to the fold after a loan stint at Leicester Tigers in his recovery from a back injury.

Forwards James Malcolm, Richard List and Matt Talaese also enter the replacements.
