Back row Tom Calladine becomes the Knights newest addition as he pens a two year deal from Rotherham Titans.

The flanker who is also capable at number eight Captained the Titans this season and joins Michael Hills, Josh Tyrell & Sam Jones as confirmed back-row signings for 2018/19.

Calladine arrives at Castle Park after three seasons at Clifton Lane where he made 55 appearances and has been a standout performer.

The 28-year-old has a wealth of Championship experience having played for four seasons with Nottingham before signing with the Titans. Calladine made over 80 appearances for the Green and Whites and played a significant role in the side’s second placed championship finish in 2012/13.

Tom is another product of the Hartpury College rugby factory where he won the British Universities title as a student and has also gained representative honours with England at Under 16 & Under 18 level.

Commenting the latest acquisition Forward Coach Glen Kenworthy said. “I’m delighted that we have brought Tom on board and I’m looking forward to working with him next season.

“He’s been a rock over at Rotherham during a really tough period and will bring some fantastic leadership qualities to the group.

“He’s the type of player you really don’t want to play against and is a nuisance for opposition.

“We first came across Tom at Nottingham, he is seasoned campaigner at this level despite still being quite young and will add more competition to an already very competitive pack.”

Speaking on the move, Tom added. "I am very pleased to have committed myself to Doncaster for the next two seasons, they are a great club and have been a force to be reckoned with in the Championship for the last few years.

“Having spoken to Griff and a couple of ex-Rotherham players that have made the move to Doncaster I am excited about signing and feel I would fit into what is already a strong and experienced pack."
