Summer signing George Edgson has been progressing positively as the hooker makes his way back from ankle injury.
The 23-year-old picked up the injury late last season playing for Ealing Trailfinders, but is now on his way back to full fitness and believes that pre-season has been developing well.
“Yes my rehab is going good, it was a frustrating time to pick up the injury as pre-season was around the corner but I feel I am doing the most to try and integrate with the squad but it is tough sometimes when you’re rehabbing most of the day.”
George was persuaded to join after a conversation with Director of Rugby Clive Griffiths and once he heard that former Doncaster & Jersey hooker Steve Boden would be joining the coaching staff from Yorkshire Carnegie.
“After hearing the vision and the direction that Clive wanted to take the club in and hearing that Steve Boden would be joining are in a few of the massive reasons behind me joining the club.
Having played against the Knights many times before it definitely helped my decision to join, they definitely play a brand of rugby that I would like to be involved in and it’s always been a tough game when I have played down here.”
The former Wasps and Bedford forward has a clear view of what he hopes to achieve this season and what he can add to the Doncaster squad.
“I like to get my hands on the ball and I like to be as busy as I can around the park and offer as much as I can on the pitch.
I aim to better myself as a player as much as I can but also add as much as I can to the squad.”
