The Knights welcome National One side Rams to Castle Park tomorrow looking to end pre-season with three consecutive victories.
Clive Griffiths’ side have already scored over 40 points in their two previous friendlies, 42-12 against Sale and 47-7 in Bridgend.
The Rams are based near the small village of Sonning on the outskirts of Reading in the county of Berkshire, the club has risen through the rugby union system in recent years. In the space of seven years, they earned promoted to the National League 3 South West and eventually became champions of that league during the 2014/15 campaign.
Last season under the stewardship of Director of Rugby Seb Reynolds, the club claimed another promotion, this time to the National One after winning 28 out of 30 league matches and finishing 18 points clear of second placed Canterbury.
Another demonstration of the quality contained in the Rams’ side is the recognition a number of players received in the National League 2 South Dream XV. With Jak Rossiter (Wing), Andrew Humberstone (Inside Centre), Tom Vooght (Captain & Flanker), Ben Henderson (Hooker), Alex Seers (Fly Half), James Baker (Tighthead Prop) all featuring.
Doncaster's starting side has shuffled again with several changes, as the Knights look to get valuable game time ahead of the opening RFU Championship Cup game against Hartpury.
George Edgson scored a try on his debut at Sale last weekend and has been rewarded with a starting spot. While Marc Thomas will be another to make his first appearance in Donny colours at Castle Park. In addition, Joe Sproston, Dougie Flockhart, Sam Pocklington and Morgan Eames make their way into the XV.
Amongst the replacements, Ollie Stedman returns from injury and Academy & Phoenix star Seth Adams may feature, as he did last year in August for the Knights.
