Lasha aiming for debut in Coventry game

Lasha Lomidze signed for the Knights last week and is hoping for more game time with the Knights during the remainder of the season.

The Georgian International has previously played for London Irish as well clubs in France, Russia and Georgia.

Lasha has joined from Aurillac, a Division 2 Georgian side and the second row was pleased to join Doncaster and is hopeful to get his debut against Coventry on 12th January.

“I am excited and happy to join the club and want to play as much as possible, I will hopefully feature against Coventry and get my debut.

I joined because it is a good club with good players and I hope to help the team push up the table.”

Forwards Coach Glen Kenworthy was happy to add further competition to the squad with the Georgian able to play number 8 as well.

“He is an experienced International that adds depth to the squad, not only that he brings some versatility in that he can play number 8 as well. It will take him a couple of weeks to settle in coming from Georgia, but we are looking forward to getting him at Castle Park.”
