Back-row Latu Makaafi will join National One outfit Coventry Rugby for the 2017/18 campaign.
The 35-year-old former Tongan International has 39 tries in 111 appearances for the Knights and has been a regular fixture since returning to Castle Park from Jersey in the summer of 2014.
Latu played a pivotal role in last season’s play-off final reaching campaign; scoring 18 tries to earn himself a place in the Greene King IPA Championship Dream XV.
Commenting on Makaafi’s departure Director of Rugby Clive Griffiths said. “It will be sad to see Latu go, he has been exemplary since he came back to us from Jersey.
“He had an absolutely stellar season last year highlighted by his selection in the dream team.
“He’s had one or two problems with injuries this year which have held him back slightly but we wish him all the very best for his future career at Coventry.”
Latu remains a Doncaster player until the close of the 2016/17 season.
