Stedman signs as a Knight.

Barnstorming number eight Ollie Stedman has signed with the Knights for the new season having spent a successful loan spell at Castle Park from London Welsh.

The 23-year-old arrives at the Club having made an impact with several impressive performances in the second half of the 2014/15 season which included two sensational home displays versus Bristol at Castle Park. Being named Man of the Match in the league fixture then sprinting half the length of the pitch to touch down in the British and Irish Cup semi final triumph.

Stedman’s rugby CV makes impressive reading, as well as having made over twenty appearances in his two seasons at London Welsh, the back rower has spent time at Newcastle Falcons and Yorkshire Carnegie.

Ollie has picked up representative honours throughout the England age group set ups, sporting the red rose at Under 16, 18 and 20 level and states that he is delighted to have made his move to Doncaster permanent. “I’m very happy to have signed with the Knights for next year.

“It’s going to be a pivotal season for us, if we build on some of the performances from this year against the leagues top Clubs we should be looking up the table rather than down.

“I’ve really enjoyed my loan period here this season. The feeling around the club and ethos in the changing room is what has made signing permanently the right decision for me.

“With the squad we have plus a few quality additions there should be no reason why we can't look to be competing for a top four spot next season.

“We've beaten Bristol this year and got very close to teams like Rotherham, London Scottish and Nottingham there is no reason why we can't go one better and beat these teams next time.”

DoR Griffiths added that Stedman’s first class background make him a valuable addition to the squad. “Ollie brings some fantastic Premiership experience to the squad from his days with London Welsh and he is a great catch that I am delighted to have added to the squad.”
